Welcome
I want to get one thing out of the way, right away. This is an anonymous blog. What does that mean for you, the reader?
Simply, it means you won’t know who I really am. Because all my stories and information will be genuine and real, I require anonymity. I will be telling stories and tackling issues that involve mental health, that can be sensitive and raw. Occasionally, friends and family will make appearances in my stories. I want to protect them and myself from any drama the internet might throw at us. I also want to have the freedom to discuss anything.
Now that we have that out of the way, let me introduce myself. You can call me Dolly. I am a 40-something-year-old woman who lives on the eastern seaboard of the United States. I am 70 lbs overweight and I want to lose weight. But I’m not very motivated to do so. I love music, literature, and animals. I have ADHD and depending on which psychiatrist or psychologist my mom dragged me to as a kid, I’m bipolar, on the Autism spectrum, or both. I’m married to a man – we’ll call him James. James has trouble holding down a job for more than a year at a time. But his love of soccer and video games remains constant. James has a lot of anxiety. We’ve been married for 17 years and have 3 children together. Our oldest son – we’ll call him One – is 21 years old. He is on the Autism spectrum and is working towards independence. Our only daughter – we’ll call her Two – is 15 years old. She’s in high school and has generalized anxiety disorder and ADHD. She has recently become serious about school and is our social butterfly. Our youngest son – we’ll call him Three – is 11 years old. We are currently homeschooling him with the intention to send him to public school sometime in the next couple of years. He is very ahead of his age and grade in several areas and behind in others. If left to his own devices, he would play video games and legos 24 hours a day.
Our family is not affluent, we hover just above the poverty line. We farm as well as hold down other jobs. Our family of 5 shares a 970-square-foot home with 2 dogs, 2 pigeons, and a snake. Animals are central to our lives so I’m sure you will see them pop up in a few posts.
That’s all you need to know to get started. So head over to the blog and read more.
